Welcome Spring 2025 _Meetup Summary

Hi Guys!

Here's a quick summary of today's meet up with incoming Spring students for those who couldn't make it. We covered highlights, and this recap is for you !

We began with a small twist on introductions, each of us were randomly paired for one-on-one conversations. When their turn came, they introduced their partner to everyone at the round table. It was heartening to hear intros shared on each other’s behalf.

New joiners asked practical questions about coursework, online/offline class formats, and feedback on upcoming courses. I’m so glad that Naveen and Tejaswini A were there to address them thoughtfully and make everyone feel welcome!

As we interacted with the new joiners, it took many of us back to our own early days at the university. We reminisced about those initial weeks - new, overwhelming, and exciting. It was a reflective moment for all of us.

What began as a casual meetup evolved into a meaningful gathering, sparking engaging conversations and inspiring ideas for the organization. Two standout contributions included Prajeena’s suggestion to establish a GitHub organization with multiple repositories as a shared resource, and Anosha’s idea for a debugging competition. Their passion and enthusiasm were truly inspiring, and we’re eager to bring these ideas to life!

We know some faced scheduling difficulties and couldn’t attend this meetup. Don’t worry,we plan to roll out activities quite often especially after seeing interest it sparked!

It was truly a joy to connect. Let’s keep this momentum going as we continue to grow and collaborate.
