Mission The mission of NAACP 6809 at East Texas A&M University is to advocate for justice, equality, and civil rights by empowering students to address social, political, and economic inequalities. In alignment with the national organization of NAACP, we are committed to eliminating discrimination, ensuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality for all persons, and fostering an inclusive campus and community through education, advocacy, service, and civic engagement.
Membership Benefits- Leadership development: Members will be given hold executive and committee positions that build leadership, advocacy, and organization skills- Professional Development: Direct access to workshops, guest speakers, and plenty of resources catered toward students, helping them grow professionally while building confidence and setting them up for success- Advocacy and Civic Engagement: Direct involvement in social action and initiatives, voter engagement, and policy advocacy at all levels- Networking Opportunities: Members will be given exclusive networking opportunities through local, state, and national NAACP chapters including alumni and other community leaders- Community Service: Members are given opportunities to engage in meaningful service projects that positively impact lives even beyond the university- Conference and Convention Access: Members are given eligibility to attend NAACP conferences and conventions at the state and national level- Member Recognition: Members are eligible for scholarships, awards, and recognition programs
